Another Contract with Thomas Nelson

It's been in the works for a while, and now it's official...I have signed with Thomas Nelson Publishing for another 3-book deal to follow the 'Daughters of the Promise' series.  Actually, I'm trying to decide if there might be one more 'Daughters of the Promise' book in me, or if I should start with a brand new series.  Either way, I love writing fiction stories based in Amish Dutch Country.

I'm still not very good at this blogging.  And I'm supposed to be keeping up with a Facebook profile I set up, but I honestly don't remember how to access it.  And I think I have a Myspace too, but again...I have forgotten how to access it.  So, if you've asked me to be a friend or add you to one of these sites, I'm not being rude - I'm just "technically challenged."

I look at some authors who are running Web sites, blogs, Facebooks, Myspace, and something called Twitter...I don't dare to even ask what that is...and I'm wondering how they keep up with it all.  I answer every email I receive - cuz I know how to do that.  I guess I better get educated on all this other stuff.

And some of the blogs I read are amazing!!  I'm not even sure if anyone reads this blog.  So, as a test...if at least ten people comment on this entry by Dec. 10, I'll draw one and give away a signed copy of Plain Perfect.  So, maybe pass this info. along to some friends and ask them to subscribe and post a comment.  I promise I'll be a better blogger if I think I have an audience.

Happy Holidays!

I read all your entries. It's interesting to read about an author at work. I am lucky enough to already have an autographed copy of Plain Perfect. It's a good book and I really enjoyed reading it. I keep it next to my autographed copy of Divine Freefall, your earlier book. Hopefully, I will eventually have a collection of all of your books. Keep up the good work.

Yes Beth, I always read your blog! I enjoy reading Amish fiction - a simplier, more gentle, peaceful, faithful life maybe? - and it's great to discover a new voice in this genre. I hope to read your book soon. Another thing is that I've always loved the name "Beth" so that's what I named my daughter.

I don't see how other authors keep up with all those Internet tools either, Beth. I'd say put God, your family and your career first and the rest will take care of itself. You might have to learn the word "no"!

Here from Mocha With Linda. I'd love to read this book -- and winning it would be even better!

It is a struggle to maintain balance, keeping up with all the new ways to interact with people yet get things done.

I haven't tried Facebooks or Myspace but I did sign up for Twitter and I don't know what to do with it! lol Several people have asked to follow me and I said yes but I haven't written anything and I don't know where or how to do it! Like you, I just know how to do emails or make a comment on someone's blog!
This book looks good. Thanks for the chance to win it!
