Plain Perfect - 50,000 Sold

I have been hibernating, trying to meet a March 1 deadline.  (Waving to my sister who I haven't talked to in much too long).  I spent last weekend with writer friend, Carol Voelkel, at a log cabin that I have decided is the perfect writer's getaway.  We stayed in sweat pants for two days, did little talking, lit candles, warmed hot dogs in the microwave, listened to tranquil music in the background, and I was able to knock out 10,000 words.  That's a lot for me - about 30 pages.

When I returned, I found out that Plain Perfect got a mention in Publisher's Weekly.   In the article, it states that Plain Perfect has sold 40,000 copies.  Since that interview, my publisher says we have hit 50,000.  I am super thrilled about that!

Both Plain Perfect and Plain Pursuit (books #1 and #2 in the Daughters of the Promise series) will also be releasing in audio format in April.  I'm working right now with the audio company in an effort to make sure that the pronunciation of the Pennsylvania Dutch in the books is correct.  (Getting some help from my friends in Lancaster County!)

With four books releasing this year, I am super busy and super BLESSED!  Plain Pursuit will release in April.  An Amish Christmas will hit the shelves in hard cover in August.  Book #3, Plain Promise, in the Daughters of the Promise series, will release in September, and An Amish Gathering will be available in the fall.  My publisher is working on some exciting 'packaging' of my books, as well.  The series will be available in custom edition - a boxed gift set - in the fall.

I'm very excited about my upcoming trip to Pennsylvania.  My friends in Lancaster County are hosting a book signing on May 23 at Belier's Bed and Breakfast.  And prior to that, I will be in Dallas at the Christian Book Expo with 200 other authors for the first event of its kind.

I am working on an exciting project with three other authors of Amish fiction - Kathleen Fuller, Amy Clipston, and Barbara Cameron.  We are forming a joint blog that will feature our book releases, musings about the Amish way of life, authentic Amish recipes, and anything else Amish!  Stay tuned for more on that.  We are planning a March 2 launch date (I hope!).

I still have some Amish goodies that I'll be giving away soon, so check back.  I'll also be stocking up some really cool items when I'm in Pennsylvania to give away on this blog and the co-authored blog that is coming soon!

Blessings to you, Beth
