To Twitter or Not To Twitter...

Good Morning,

Thanks to everyone for clearing up my mystery fruit - OSAGE ORANGE or Maclura Pomifera, more commonly known as the 'Horse Apple', and not edible!  Unless you're a horse!  My sister knows plants, and she said it is native to Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.  Evidently,  there are current studies going on to see if the fruit helps with mosquito control once it's dried and processed.  Otherwise, it just looks like a bunch of tennis balls falling out of my trees.  A few of you also said it helps control spiders...interesting!

Now, let's talk about twittering.  To be honest, I have fought this issue.  I have my blog, a Facebook account, and a Web site.  Why do I need to Twitter too?  What's different about twittering?  My marketing director said this is an important networking tool, and that I need to jump on board.  Sigh...  Are any of you twitterers?  I'm not even sure that's the right technical term...twitterer.  Please enlighten me.

Do you twitter?

Have a great weekend!

Beth, I'm like you in that all the computer contacts are enough, and I don't even know what they mean by Twitter! You do have to save some time to write!!!

No, I don't Twitter. And I refuse to get started with that! LOL! I just have to draw the line somewhere & that's where I've decided to draw it. I'm so tired of hearing about it as I watch the news on TV--seems every which way you turn now they are telling you to check them out on Twitter. I get enough information from the web, message boards & blogs. I know I'm probably showing my age with this, it's just that I have got to back off so much technology--for my own sanity! LOL!

I work on a computer all day at work and fought setting up a Facebook account. I thought now why do I need this but now I am glad I did. It is a great way to reconnect with old friends from the past. With a Facebook account I really don't see a need for Twitter also.

Beth, I'm like you about limiting computer time, but I'll have to say that I like Twitter much more than Facebook. It's just short posts and I enjoy keeping up with several Christian authors that way. In fact, I rarely go to Facebook anymore. Something that might interest you is that I've picked up from some Twitter posts that there is a way to link Twitter & Facebook so you only have to post once. I hope to see you there!

I agree with you both. I have a Facebook account and an email address and I think that is all I need. And I agree that you need time for writing. Anxiously awaiting the new books from all of you

I know I'm showing my age by saying this, BUT I don't twitter and don't plan to. I have enough with just checking me e-mails at home & work.

Hi Beth, I just wanted to say I DO twitter. I think it's a great marketing and communicating tool. I'm a book blogger and I've been able to have direct contact with authors, publishers and publicists. As long as you understand how to really use twitter (it's not just for updating what you had for lunch or when it's time for dinner), it's a great way to connect with others.

I'm probably not much help because I don't twitter or use facebook. I feel I'd spend too much time online if I did. I agree that twitter would be a good marketing tool, though.
