Vampires Moving Into Christian Market

From Amish Fiction to Vampire Lit, Christian Fiction Branches Out

This is a very interesting article that one of my editors sent me.  It details the success of the Amish genre and details other genres that are moving into the Christian market.

Allen Arnold, Senior VP and Publisher for Thomas Nelson (my publisher) also chimes in with his thoughts.

Worth reading!  Would love to hear what you think.

I love Christian fiction as well as vampire fiction so I'm excited to read Tracey's book...I even wrote how excited I was about it on my blog last month! I think it's cool how the Christian market is expanding to include everyone and not just the ladies.

I like the Amish books, but I sure can't see how you could put vampires into Christian or inspirational fiction and have it be uplifting and glorifying to God. I think some people will do anything for money. We are to be "in the world" but not love the world and follow its ways that are contrary to God and Christ's teachings. I am glad to hear about these books so I will be sure to not buy them even if they are by a well-known "Christian" author.

I apologize if I'm doing this incorrectly, but I'm brand new to the world of blogging. I was hoping to put my name in the hat for an autographed copy of one of your books. My days are spent training special education teachers in West Texas, but my nights are spent with a book in my hands. I sorely wish that I possessed your talent for making your readers feel that they become a part of the backdrop that you weave. Your characters take on a life of their own under your pen (or computer). The rest of us feel grateful for those of you who possess this ability. I have deeply enjoyed each book you've written - and look forward to many more.

I had noticed this trend, that more and more authors are beginning to write Amish fiction ( didn't know about the vampire lit----I think we can do without that!). Hey, anything that will expand the circle of Christian readers out there. As long as the Amish fiction doesn't get too "preachy", it can serve to draw people to Christ. I personally love reading Amish fiction. In today's fast-paced society, I find it to be calming, as well as entertaining and educational.
