Anonymous Letter on the Bridge - Day 3 - BIG NEWS!

If you haven't been keeping up with this story, please see the past two posts.

Big news!  The letter is gone!  So, let's speculate:

Did the recipient finally see the letter and retrieve it?  Will he write back?

Did the woman come back to see if he got the letter, see my letter, and take them both?  Will she contact me?

Did someone just passing over the bridge in this low-traffic area stumble upon the letter, read it, and take it to respond to my letter?  Or maybe they will add a letter of their own?

Or, did a big wind come along and blow the letter into the creek below where it's floating downstream???  Gosh, I hope not!!  And I doubt it, since yesterday I made sure it was snuggly in place.

Stay tuned... I'll be checking the bridge often.

Still swooning...

I agree, I think he got it or else my heart hopes he got it!! This is so much fun, following along on your journey. I am glad you went back and left your letter when you did. No matter the ending, this has sure given you great ideas for the book.

Lets say he finally stopped after 2 days of passing by the mysterious letter - tucked away waiting for only him. It gave him a nagging feeling deep with-in that the note was for him. Not wanting to invade someone Else's privacy he tried to ignore it. But since the love of his life had gone away - hoping he'd see this and tell her of his undying love for her, for her to return to the bridge and meet him so they could forever be in each others arms. But there family's were the problem. Him being from an old order Amish family, deep in the faith, her being from a non so strict religion and being a musician. How would this ever work? Would he be banned forever if he kept his one and only true love? Or would he pine for her the rest of his life and stay with his faith.... LOL sorry I just had to - this is so much fun.... I can't wait to find out more!

Let's say he has been thinking of her all along & hoping for a sign that she feels the same about him. He has been hesitant to return to their meeting place for fear that she had not been back. He goes back and finds the note. He is elated & takes the note home to ponder on how to answer her, he is shy you know being amish.

What if they both were Amish. She was from another district and had traveled to a funeral in his district. She stayed to help out but had to return, to care for her aging parents. She had stayed long enough for a chance meeting at the bridge and for them to fall in love. She would not ask him to leave his district and the farm he loved and she knew she couldn't leave her home as she was the caregiver for her parents. She leaves the note, for him in "their spot". She tells him of her hopes and dreams that someday, they might be together again.
