Something Special About This Bridge

This morning I wrote 1000 words, then got a serious case of cabin fever and decided to take a drive.  As I was going over the bridge by my house (see earlier posts to follow story), I saw several women on the bridge.  It looked like they were taking pictures, but upon further inspection, I noticed that they were putting notes on the bridge.  Right away, I asked these sweet ladies if they knew anything about the love letter I'd found on the bridge.  They hadn't, but were intrigued and I gave them one of my cards so they could follow the story.

Anyway, I asked them why they were putting notes on the bridge, and one lady said, "Just offering happy thoughts and prayers."  I thought that was nice, said goodbye, and was on my way.  When I came back over the bridge an hour or so later...Wow.  Lots of notes, and I have to tell ya...made me cry.

There's something special about that bridge, and now I've heard a terrible rumor that the county is going to tear it down.  A dear friend is a subscriber to this blog, and she also happens to work for the county judge.  I've asked her to find out about this for me, and also told her that I'll lie down on the bridge on destruction day if they try to tear it down!   My husband is probably thinking...watch out, she'll do it.

Still don't know if we'll hear any more about our love letter, but I thought you might like to see the other notes that are currently on the bridge.  I'm thinking about adding notes to the bridge.

Hey, why don't we put our own prayers or happy thoughts on the bridge for all to see and maybe inspire.  Send me your special prayers, thoughts, hopes, dreams...I'll pin a note to the bridge.

I love the notes for the children!

This one is a little hard to read, but it says:

Inner peace and outer prosperity is my heart's desire for each of us.

Peace!

Isn't it just like the government, something so serene and they have to go and take it down. We have ducks on a park near my home and just sitting and watching them on the water is so serene and restful, and people want them out of the park because they leave their dropping on the sidewalk. Well the ducks were there first. There are two sidewalks, walk on the other one and leave the sidewalk next to the water for the ducks.

The government destroying beauty is why they are so uptight and grow old fast. May God right them into thinking about this.

I love the bridge letter story! Please do incorporate it into a new book. May never know what happened to the letter, but I like to think that the one for whom it was meant has found it and that he will write back!
