ACFW Conference 2010 -- Day 1

Hello from Indianapolis!  The ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) Conference officially starts today at 3 p.m., but folks were strolling in all afternoon yesterday, including me and my dear friend Carol Voelkel.  This is Carol's first time to be at the conference as an 'agented writer', and we met with her agent last night.  Much excitement in the air!  Hoping Carol sells her fabulous series very soon!  She has appointments to 'pitch' her series to editors tomorrow and Sunday.

As for me...love roaming the halls and seeing old friends.  Kinda like one big family reunion here!  Today my agent arrives, several author friends, and my editor and fiction family from Thomas Nelson Publishing.  SO excited to see them all.

Here are a few pics from yesterday.

There's a nice-sized bookstore at the conference, and authors will be taking turns signing their books throughout the weekend.  If anyone is in the area, I'll be signing from 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.  All the information is at www.acfw.com

Carol Award Finalists' books are displayed all together.  I had to get a pic with my three books that finaled!

I have two novellas that finaled for the Carol Award in the Contemporary Novella category -- A Choice to Forgive in An Amish Christmas and A Change of Heart in An Amish Gathering.

Plain Promise
is a Carol Award finalist in the Long Contemporary Romance category.

Lots more pics later!  Gotta run for now.  Hope everyone has a great Friday!

    Beth,
In the picture with you, Tamela and Carol Voelkel, you look like a cardboard cut-out!

I would take a photo with your cardboard twin anyday!

Soak up the conference and have fun sharing your gift!

Beth, good luck with the Carol awards!! All of your books/novellas are award winners to me, so hope they are recognized there! I believe you previously wrote that Barbara Cameron is also up for a Carol award, so hoping she also ends up a winner. When you see her, please tell her I just read A Time to Love and it is super good!!! Can't wait for the next book in the series. Have a great visit and come home safely!
