Hi Everyone!
I’m excited to have fellow Christian author Colleen Coble visiting my blog today. I’ve read several of Colleen’s books and can attest to the fact that she is a wonderful author, but on a personal note, she is also a dear and loving person. So! Welcome, Colleen!
I'm excited to be here with you, Beth! I love your newest book, Need You Now. I just finished the advance reader copy and I couldn't put it down.
Awe, thanks so much! For those few readers who might not have heard of you or your books, can you tell us a little bit about you personally, why you write Christian fiction, and who or what inspires you?
I have two grown kids and a three-year-old granddaughter who is the light of my life. I've been married to the same great guy for forty years. I love being able to show the hope God gives to us in my books. I love writing. It was a lifelong dream and I'm constantly amazed at where God has taken me with my career. My books are all romantic mysteries. People have asked why I have mystery and suspense in my books, and I think it's because I have such a strong streak of justice. I look around the world and see all the injustice. I can't do anything about that but I can make sure the villain is caught in my books!
I love that! I’ve heard you say in an interview that Lonestar Angel is a favorite of yours. Can you tell us about the book and why it holds a special place in your heart?
The Lonestar books are all marriage of convenience stories. Lonestar Angel is a little different twist on that because Eden and Clay were married once. Then their infant daughter died in a kidnapping attempt gone wrong and they divorced. Eden moved on with her life. Five years later Clay shows up and tells her he never signed the divorce papers. But even more earth-shattering is his announcement that their daughter Brianna is still alive. Eden goes with Clay to try to figure out which of five little girls is their daughter. Along the way they have to learn what love really is and they start to make the choice to love every day. And of course they plunge into a dangerous situation as well.
While most authors will tell you that there are no ‘typical’ days, how do you like for your day to play out on average?
With coffee! I have to start off with freshly ground beans of the strong stuff in a big mug. Then I take care of business emails before plunging into my writing. I try to get at least 2000 words written a day when I'm putting down the rough draft. I keep at it until my goal is met for the day.
I need my coffee too! What can readers expect from you in the future?
I'm excited about a new series that is launching in a couple of weeks. The first book in the historical Under Texas Stars series is Blue Moon Promise. It's a marriage of convenience story set in 1870s Texas that I think my readers are going to love. It's a very personal book too. Lucy is dealing with the same lack of control issues I faced this year when my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer and my best friend Diann Hunt discovered that her ovarian cancer had come back. I wanted to DO SOMETHING. To fix it. But Lucy and I both had to realize that control is just an illusion. God is the one who has our life and death in his hands.
That sounds great! You are so right. God is in control, even though it's hard sometimes to 'let go and let God'. Where can readers find you online?

I can understand exactly what Colleen and her Lucy are going through. I lost both of my parents to cancer, other family members and a friend who has no signs of cancer for 8 years and an Aunt that is 6 years of no signs of cancer. It is hard on the caregivers and there are times it seems there is no end but God is always in control and knows what is the best out come of it all. Would like to be entered for a chance to win her book but if I don't I will be looking for it. Have a wonderful day.

I have this Anathema title by Colleen awaitng me on my book shelf as my next read as well as Lonestar Sanctuary. From all the reviews I have seen of Colleen's work I am eager to get onto Anathema.

I am so very blessed when I read Christian Fiction! I am consistently in awe of how God will shine a new perspective on a trial I am facing through a book I recently picked up. Sometimes, Colleen, I just like the satisfaction of knowing that justice DOES prevail between the covers of your books!

I spend so much time reading. My Bible first, then any book I can find from a Christian Author. I have depleted the books in my local library so I am always anxious to learn of new authors. I can't wait to get a book and start reading! Woohoo!

Glad you posted this interview with Colleen. I am almost done reading my 5th book of hers and would really like to read Lonestar Angel. Sounds very interesting. The book I am reading now is Lonestar Sanctuary. I enjoy both of your books. Enjoy the recipes you post also. Have tried some of them.

I enjoyed the interview with Colleen. It sounds like cancer reared its ugly head this past year in her life. First with her husband of 40 years and then with her best friend Diann. I remember praying for them both. That is one of the joys of FB, we have some great prayer warriors!
I haven't read anything of Colleen's yet but I am looking forward to doing so. I would love to win a copy of, Lonestar Angel.

I really enjoyed reading the interview. You two are among my favorite Christian authors. I have always loved to read and am glad there are good books out there that are bit full of trashy talk and sexual exploits, but what real love is all about. Thanks!

I LOVED Lonestar Angel. What a fabulous book!! I have read quite a few of Colleen's books and have enjoyed all of them. Just today, I ordered another one for my Kindle. I don't need to be entered for the book, as I own that one, so would like it to go to someone who doesn't have it. You keep writing , Colleen, and I will keep reading!!

Thank you for the interview. Two of my favorite authors together. Can't get much better than this. Actually, you, Colleen and Denise Hunter have something in common for me. I began to read all of you because I picked of each of your books at Dollar General for $3.00. Since than I've rad all your books. I love Colleen's characters. Mystery if a genre I've always enjoyed.

Lonestar Angel sounds like a good read. I think I would love Coleen Coble's books because of the mystery and suspense. Love stories with a twist.

WOW! I have seen Coleen's books in stores but didn't really realize they are filled with mystery and intrigue and marriage issues. I work with the DivorceCare program in my church and this title "Lonestar Angel" sounds like a really good book to read and maybe even be able to use it to help some of the men and women I work with see the hope of restored marriages and it may encourage them to stand the line of reconcilliation and trust in God to be in control of bringing that person back into their life when both parties are at the right point. Should I not get this book I will definitely make it my next purchase the next time I go into the city and go to a Christian bookstore or place an order offline. Thank you for sharing this interview.

you might think you have read all the amish books in your library but you can do as i do i find a book i want an i go in on the computer and go into my library acct an put the name of the book on hold after to wait a short time most of the time but if it isn't there you can go into interlibrary under the authors name an most of the time you will find the book an again put it on hold an when they get it they will send it to your library that you deal with all the time a then the library will let you know it is in an you take your card an get it. i have several books on hold right now that i am waiting for there are hundreds of books out there that are good since last sept when the library opened around the corner from my apt. i have read over two hundred and some also a good way to keep tracked is have the books you get put into your history and you can always go back an see if you have read it or not. right now i have ten books sitting an waiting for me to read i have five waiting right now for me to get when i get home tomorrow night if i get there before six either wise i will pick them up sat at ten. books are my life enjoyment an i also teach the kids i spend my days with that books are special an need special handling. hope this information might just help someone get the books they are wanting.
