A Perfect Plan
I'd like to start something new here on my blog this week and see how you like it. I'm going to offer up the discussion questions from my novels and novellas, one at a time, one each week. Then, through your comments, you'll have the opportunity to share with all of us your thoughts about the characters and your own personal experiences. It will be like a book club group, for those of us who don't have access to or time for an actual book club meeting. Participate if you'd like, or just enjoy reading other's posts. Warning! If you haven't read the book we're discussing, you many encounter some spoilers here.
My first question is from my story, A Perfect Plan, in An Amish Wedding. This is a collection of three Amish novellas by me, Kathleen Fuller and Kelly Long, published in 2011 by Thomas Nelson, Inc.
Priscilla wants to have a perfect wedding day, but she loses sight of what's really important. How might things have been different if she hadn't let worry creep into her heart?
Hope you all had a blessed and peaceful Easter weekend.

Pricilla would have enjoyed her wedding preparations so much more if she hadn't been so concerned about everything being perfect.

One thing that would have been different is the hiccups would of stopped if she hadn't let worry creep into her heart. Also worry drowned her trust in the Lord where she could of thought it's still Okay to have bumps in the road, no matter how many and still have a great marriage if she worked through the trials with her future husband.

By focusing on so much worry, enjoying the process of being engaged and planning a future wasn't fun. It was a chore. We can strive to be our best, but realize we don't need to be perfect. God loves us anyway!

Priscilla was constantly worrying about all the details as any bride generally does; however, she was magnifing all the things that went wrong and not seeing all the things that were going right. Like a man that loved her for who she is, a supportive family and friends, and God being by her side every step of the way.

Priscilla was constantly centering on the small details that weren't go right which left her wide-open for major disappointment when Chester lost his job and they had problems. She really desired God's will for her life but that got obscured by her will which is what happens to us. Be able to turn things over to the LORD helps which she did but it is so easy to take it back.

I just finished reading this book! I enjoyed all three short stories. Priscilla should have trusted her family and friends to help her out but most of all she should have realized that all things work together for good to them that love Him. She would have enjoyed every special moment instead of worrying about the things that weren't perfect. Looking forward to reading your next book! May God continue to bless you and your writing.
